PESHAWAR: The principals and senior teachers of technical colleges across the province deliberated on standardizing quality of the questions papers of the Boards of Technical Education (BTE) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Technical Education, Secretary, Jamal Akbar, on the occasion said that in the workshop around 40 male and female principals and senior teachers from various technical colleges of KP participated.
He said that through the consultative program, the teachers would make model papers of each subject, adding those papers would be followed in future in technical colleges of the province.
He mentioned that because of joint discussions of the teachers and principals, the papers would be prepared in such manner by which cheating habit from the students would come to a minimum.
A participant, Dr. Shah Saeed, associate professor at Government Commerce and Management Sciences College, Hayatabad, said that the workshop was a good effort because teachers of each subject took participation in it and prepared model papers with mutual understanding and consultation.
He said that after finalization these papers would circulate in technical colleges which would help all levels of students across the province.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Technical Education and Mineral Development, Nawabzada Mehmood Zeb Khan said that the importance of technical education cannot be ignored in the modern era.
He said that 12 commerce and technical colleges had been established across the province and a technical education center was also functional on district level.
Khan said that they have submitted a proposal to the chief minister for setting up a technical university in the province and hoped that the proposal will be materialized soon in KP.
He said that they also suggested establishing a temporary building for a technical college on Ring Road and a suitable place would be selected later on.
He said that they would fill 650 vacant posts in the technical colleges around the KP.
